The ELA membership
The first release is intended to cover beginning reading, grammar, and spelling. It will not yet replace a complete language-arts program. Continue your family’s reading and literature, composition, and handwriting instruction alongside these courses.
HillLight ELA brings together Grammar, Spelling, Phonics, Reading, Vocabulary, Writing, and Typing. Phonics and Early Reading, Grammar Quest, and Spelling are the intended initial release; the other modules are planned or in development.
Typing is a skill supplement. Grammar focuses on language mechanics, Spelling on spelling, and the other modules cover their own parts of English language arts. Listing a module in the membership does not mean it is available at launch.
See the wider ELA roadmap and development stagesFor example, a Grammar session begins with one idea and a worked example. Your child practices with support, tries the skill independently, and returns to earlier skills for review. These are the planned learning patterns, not a fixed timetable for every child.
Help with directions, talk through examples, and listen to spoken reading. Early learners should not be expected to manage every step alone.
Readers can work through explanations and practice, with a parent available when a concept needs another look.
Compare each course’s grade scope with what your child already knows. Reading, grammar, and spelling may need different starting points.
Compare the Grammar scopeHillLight uses structured curriculum plans and AI-assisted drafting. Draft content is not the same as approved curriculum. Release preparation includes checks of answer keys, skill coverage, prerequisites, age appropriateness, and the learning experience.
The launch courses remain in development. Current previews show draft lessons; they are not evidence of measured learning outcomes or third-party accreditation.
For parents
One family account keeps each child’s learning separate. The parent dashboard is being prepared alongside the courses so you can see completed lessons, time spent, and skills that need another look.
